Hello, my name is Annelies. I am a local resident of East Lyme for over 20 years. I have worked both in the art and healthcare industry for the last 2 decades.
Years ago, I pursued my passion for art by enrolling at Eastern Connecticut State University where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Digital Art and Design with a minor in Art History. I have always been fascinated by various art forms, and while I enjoy digital art and design, there is nothing like the sensory experience that you get from traditional art methods.
Painting, mixed media, collage, and journaling are just some of the techniques that I use in my workshops and classes. I have discovered that these are my favorite forms of creative expression! I try to create in my art journals or sketchbooks every day although life can become very busy and sometimes take us away from our passions. This is why I have decided to share my passion with others by creating art classes and workshops for children and adults.
In my opinion, art is not just a hobby or profession; it is a way of life that everyone can enjoy, regardless of age or interests. That's why I am passionate about sharing creativity and creating an environment where everyone can explore their artistic side, especially children. I believe that art can be a powerful tool for self-growth and self-exploration, and children's natural curiosity make them the perfect candidates for learning and exploring through art.
